sword

experimenting with the sword over time, i have realised that by using a samurai sword, one can benefit from its healing qualities.

the sword was originally developed as a killing machine for the field of battle for the samurai. each nation has their historical weapons of war however none have survived to popular culture like the samurai sword.

tai chi sworda sword has been used in the popular method of attaining calm through tai chi. a tai chi sword (see picture on left) is designed and forged in a different manner to the samurai sword.

tai chi is based around specific movements and form which enhance the flow of chi within the body. tai chi is an amazing technique when you master these movements and form.

samurai swordsthe samurai sword (see picture on right), used in the correct way, becomes an extension of oneself. the way i teach is to not use specific form but to use the sword that bests suits your own individual movements.

there are three different sizes of swords - Katana (long blade), Wakaizashi (medium blade), and Tanto (small blade). most people start this technique using the Wakaizashi.

anyone of any age can experience the balancing and healing properties of the samurai sword:

  • shoulder pain
  • elbow and wrist problems
  • muscle tension in upper body
  • strengthening upper body
  • balancing body and coordination

best of all you can take it at your own pace. there is no need to push yourself as each body is different.

there are many levels and there is no limit to how far you can go with this technique. also the swords used are display swords - they are not the real thing (ie not sharp and made of the same hardened steel) and should always be kept in a safe place away from children.

experience the brilliance of the samurai sword today!
